Growth, what a formidable cause of living you are. There you are being what you represent no matter the time. Not so one sided, as it is often thought of, you sure hold a forever moving facet. As this new month comes into, I sure found you worth investing on. Here's s to growth!
As March is my birth month, it came to me so gently to focus on growth. Whether it be my growth or of the people and things around me, I just found it worth my attention. I have special occasions to celebrate at the same time, much to be considerate of. It is always a tricky time in terms of being brave enough to be glad and joyful while having a lot to be sad about. It is much like growth really, it can go both ways at the same damn time! You can outgrow certain things in life and find that there is a need to regroup and regrow(take another shot at...). The more you live, the more you realise there is a lot of growing needed in/from you, even though your biological clock ain't ticking backwards to your beginning. As you lounge to your most ripe nature, life gives more reason to develop further. You may need to savor the seed from what you thought you have reached the peak of and sow it all over again, just because you did not quite learn what will get you to what's next. Then, at other times when ripening stages are reached, it is done and so are you. The honest truth, it is a complex process, one worth investing on.
When raising children, some days before their birthday a lot of changes sneak up on you, and your routines and the familiar becomes all blurry. It comes usually as an "ooooh moment!", like it suddenly all makes sense that the reason why your child now eat certain foods or managed to go potty is for they have been coming into a new year. It won't matter if you bought nappies in bulk thinking you've got a sensible estimate on the" growth stages and expected weight", once a certain size no longer fit it is done. It is never different for anyone at any age really as far as phases inspired by changes come to play. For the "grown ups", they often feel like because certain changes are expected they will definitely catch them and avoid surprises. The commendable managing of expectations in this case always put them at ease except when something happens, it happens and it is in the now. In the now, you deal whether you are ready, fully aware of it , accepting of it or not. The process of dealing with the now is definite and the next phase will surely come, while the one that has passed is exactly that, the past. It is truly a matter of taking it as it comes most times, ready or not . That is growth, so relentless!
Do you ever feel like though time is moving and things are happening, that you are not growing? That feeling like you are not moving. Even though you woke up and things got done, you can't really say you are "living", you feel rather undone. I do have those days, especially when I'm lost in my thoughts, thrown by overthinking. It use to happen a lot when hardships strike back when I was younger(this can be anytime before today). Some days I just give this life thing a run for its money, and some days I just don't have even the slightest desire to even move a muscle. I would be so sure that I should be doing this and that, but I won't even try. Then there are times when I have issues with time, that it was not enough for the day. Days when I'm on a roll, leaving no stone unturned and making sure I have a life worth living now and the days to come. When all this is taking place, growth is not resting. It takes you as you come and if you are redundant that is dreadful, while if you are abundant in being present, that is devine. Valuing growth by being present no matter the times at hand, is devine!
In Second Peter, Chapter three(3), the letter expresses as follows, "Therefore, Dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." This is verse 17 and 18 of the chapter. The secure position to relate as far as growth here is for one to value teachings of the Lord by obeying. I really do not wish to fall from his grace due to being reckless and cease investing in my spiritual growth. Would you like to live a life where growth for you is pointless for you have nothing you believe in? No longer on guard as to what is worth your peace or not, insecure and unsatisfied? Always getting sucked into what is making waves even when the waves takes you way to far from the shore? Believing in You is already one tough task on a daily basis. Now, imagine not having that either all because You no longer feel the need to. If you are a soccer fan, you know how unpleasant the feeling is, to no longer have that confidence in your favourite team. It feels like a gamble on hope. It can at times make you loose interest in the whole sport. If for any reason you are in this space, where there is absolutely no hope according to your comprehension, I have this words taken from a sermon I heard this pass Sunday, "you worship inspite of." In this case, value growth inspite of what seems to be in the way. Look at what's on the way instead. Having faith (being hopeful) takes you to where the odds against you are for your progress eventually. Hold on and keep on!"
What is true is that to everything there is a time, hence growth is a process!
On the start of this month, I will say cheers to growth, whatever shape it may come. As changes keep on coming, so will I keep on learning. I choose growth, it matters, You Matter!
