Hello to thy prime self! You're doing well I hope.
This right here is meant for everyone who has learned to be positive about Self-Care. I say this because there is often a conflict of interest in this matter. Some think of it as being selfish, conceited, arrogant, self-righteous and self-centered when they see someone taking time to themselves, abundant in Self-Love and Self-respect.
I need to continue to put it out there, that when it comes to this initiative, Self-awareness is being built through growing a sense of worth, taking care of yourself, staying true to yourself and others. It is about being authentic, brave, courageous and kind to thyself. This is to inform our sense of self. There is absolutely no negative Vibes here and drama is not to be part of it, as a mode of action.
The past five years have taught me to belong to God and myself! I can never match my productivity when in Solitude with that when I'm with others lately. This is because I have spent most of my life trying to be accepted by others, which messed me up real good. It is in this phase of my life however that I have discovered what self-acceptance is. As a result, I tend to let people know that they matter as much as possible as individuals, because I have seen how much more authentic one's life becomes when they have learned to love themselves first, or when they can be more open to self-discovery before wanting to discover in a crew. There is a lot we do and look over about ourselves. As a result, we are convinced by certain experiences our value depends on others loving us. It is not so much as being naïve when we do so, we just have a fear of being intentional about Individuality, so much that we even mimic others. This then takes away the build up of a sense of self.
It starts from not knowing what we like to do on a simple Saturday morning alone, when we have time to not worry about deadlines, all the way to thinking we have no life without having deadlines or a chillas with "friends". Then, we get to not enjoying a dance floor by ourselves, because people will ask where our partners are. Unfortunately this also leads to using our kids as reason why we didn't pursue that qualification, that dream, as an excuse to not prioritizing and capitalizing on our potential. We forget that everyone around us has a journey of their own, of which we are only to compliment and not depend on. We take for granted the significance of independence because we think it is about being single or materialistic. We forget that it also means having the ability and joy to express our individuality, and then share it with others. A sense of worth at this time would be about who we have to shadow and hide by, when it needs to be about what we can showcase as who we really are, what we aspire to achieve and then attract what and who shares the same values and principles.
You Matter! - is focusing on You growing your attributes to attract what builds on your strengths and opens the most relevant opportunities to get you to self-actualization . Awareness of Self is meant to help you gain a psychological comprehension of what you lean towards and why it is so. This is about embracing individuality, that of our own and of others.
"The body is an object in which we are all privileged, or doomed, to dwell, the source of feelings of well-being and pleasure, but also the site of illnesses and strains. (...) [I]t is an action-system, a mode of praxis, and its practical immersion in the interactions of day-to-day life is an essential part of the sustaining of a coherent sense of self-identity." - Anthony Giddens
Some rhetorical questions to get a sense of where you are:
What is it that you think of when you think of Belonging to Self?
How do you "Feed your Focus" when it comes to individual interests?
Do you even try to enjoy your individuality?
How aware are you about your sense of self?
What are you doing that you solely love?
Are you happy with and by yourself?
Hope it helps you out with your journey. Focus on what builds you up to have a healthy sense of self. It Matters, You Matter!
